Maragon Olympus Primary School is located at Doxa Deo Faerie Glen in Faerie Glen, Pretoria East and caters for students from Grade 1 to Grade 7 (Pre-Primary Grade 000-0). The CAPS Curriculum of the Department of Education is followed while being supplemented by a Global Citizenship programme incorporated in all aspects of teaching. This enhances learners’ readiness for the 21st Century. As part of this, we promote Respect, Diversity and Inclusion known as the RDI programme in which we aim to assist learners in understanding and becoming an influencial Global Citizen.
Maragon’s Christ-centred educational model focuses on knowing God, loving people and influencing the future while achieving academic excellence. Teachers follow the CAPS curriculum and extend it by incorporating Global Citizenship and Competencies to achieve a high academic standard. Our blended learning approach always puts the development of the learner first. Digital Literacy on computers is offered from Grade 000 while tablets are introduced in Grade 6 and 7 classrooms.
The goal will always be to enhance the learning experience and enrich the content presented by the teacher. We follow an Inquiry Based Learning approach while our parallel-medium language model offers Afrikaans and English language lanes for the Pre-Primary and Primary School.
