Ebukhosini Training Institute ’s vision is: Transformed Families that Transform Communities! We aim to fulfil this quest by teaching and training individuals, families and organisations to become trainers and change-agents in the community. As a non-profit company, our intention is to provide people, who do not have the means to pay, with life-changing, life skills education that will empower them to build a better future for themselves, their families and their community. Although Ebukhosini Training Institute (NPC) was only registered in 2017, the directors of the company have been operating under separate organisations in the North Eastern district of Tshwane in various community-building endeavours since 2010 and between the three of them, have over 50 years of teaching experience. Our particular area of expertise is in the field of moral regeneration and the wellness of the individual and family in general, and in youth leadership and development, in particular. This training has been accomplished mainly through the utilization of a programme called, SMART LIFE (an acronym for Sexuality Mentoring, AIDS, Relationship Training, Life skills & Family Education). We have been involved in the training of SMART LIFE facilitators and in the facilitation of workshops for primary and high school students, youth leadership camps and parent sexuality workshops – mainly in the community of Rethabiseng (Bronkhorstspruit), as well as in Mamelodi, Refilwe and Centurion. During this time we worked in a voluntary capacity, facilitating Smart Life workshops and programmes in the communities when funds were available from sponsors. Our programme, based on 30 years of research, has been highly successful over the 16 years it has been implemented, in reducing the incidence of teenage pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, other STIs and emotional disorders, as well as in improving academic performance and communication between parents and children, with the resultant stabilization of the family. During the course of 2017, we became involved with the “Transform Tshwane” initiative, championed by CROSSing Transformation Projects (NPC) and registered Ebukhosini Training Institute (NPC) on their different platforms, in order to partner with them in their global mission to transform communities. Through this partnership, we will receive support to establish Care Centres in the areas in which we live and work. These Care Centres will be supplied with “container” rooms that can be set up for the purpose of administration, ablutions, food preparation and the above-mentioned training courses, including, Transformational Leadership Coaching, Financial Literacy, Basic Parenting, Early Child Development and Primary Health Care, Food Gardens, Camps for the Restoration of Fatherhood, amongst others.
