Midrand SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)
The Midrand SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is located in Glen Austin, Midrand and we are committed to our charter of helping animals in need, and being a voice for those who do not have one. We wish to provide the core "freedoms" to all animals in our care, and this excerpt from the mission statement of our parent organization serves as our guide:
Freedom from discomfort – by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area
Freedom from pain, injury or disease – by prevention, by rapid diagnosis and treatment.
Freedom to express normal behaviour – by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal’s own kind.
Freedom from fear and distress – by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.
As a registered Non Profit Organization we do not receive government funding, and we rely completely on the generosity of corporate InformationBags and members of the public to ensure that our much needed services can be continued in the future. Donations are tax deductible and a tax certificate can be issued for inclusion in tax returns. More more information on how you can help, please see the Donations section of our website.
