The South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF) is the representative body for equestrian sport in South Africa, we are registered with SASCOC and are the South African representatives at the FEI. We ensure adherence of the Sports Act, the rules and regulations of SASCOC and Discipline Constitutions in South Africa by our members. The SAEF is also responsible for supporting members in obtaining Protea Colours and ensuring that our sport remains drug free.
Clean Sport We acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse is paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences. Due to the fundamental relationship between horse and rider across equestrian sports, it is there fore imperative that horses are protected against overuse or abuse. In ensuring that the highest welfare standards are maintained, we continue to improve our understanding of environmental and scientific factors surrounding the care of sports horses, both in and out of competition.
