Alice in Waterkloof is nestled away inside the beautiful Garden Bleu nursery in Pretoria and we are the perfect location for a coffee break, breakfast, light lunch or come and indulge in one of our homemade cakes for afternoon tea.
Michelle is the owner of Alice in Waterkloof and she has been living in Pretoria since she was 11 years old, so she really understands the “Pretoria Foodie” expectations. Michelle’s passion for food led her to complete a Diploma in Food Technology at Pretoria Technikon.
Being a Mom to her two children, and Granny to one, she was looking for an opportunity that would allow her to live her passion, and offer the flexibility of being able to spend more quality time with her precious family. In the earlier years Michelle used to have a normal 9am-5pm career, but in her spare time she would cater for a number of suites at Loftus and then branched out into baking. This is when Cupcakes by Shelly was born.
Michelle had been looking for a coffee shop for quite a while, but nothing met her expectations until she found this little gem. Alice in Waterkloof was just want she wanted, small enough for her to be hands on, and the setting was just too beautiful for her to say no.
All the baked goods at Alice are now made by Michelle herself and she can’t wait to satisfy your taste buds during your next visit.
